New VX Yamaha WaveRunner for 2018

The brief was clear – blend together all the advanced technology, superior performance and handling,
exclusive innovations and sheer reliability for which WaveRunners are renowned the world over, but in
an even more affordable, even more powerful and even more stable 3-seater package. A tough call you
might say.
The result, Yamaha’s new VX, is set to introduce a whole new generation of riders and families to the
fun of watercraft riding – and to open up an exhilarating world of enjoyment.

Powered by Yamaha’s award-winning TR-1 engine
The VX is powered by a High Output version of Yamaha’s award-winning TR-1, a 3-cylinder marine
engine that despite its punchy torque and impressive power, is 40% smaller, 20 percent lighter, and
provides even better fuel economy than the legendary 4-cylinder Yamaha MR-1.

Advanced Throttle Control on the VX – that’s RiDE®
Despite its affordable price, the VX features Yamaha’s unique and exclusive RiDE® system, the most
intuitive driving experience on the water. Squeeze the right handlebar lever to go forward. Squeeze the
left lever for reverse. At speed, the left handlebar lever will also slow you down. Simplicity itself, even
for novices.

Stable, easy-handling hull
Even with the huge advantage of the RiDE system, less experienced or younger riders will appreciate
the extra confidence and comfort that a solid-feeling hull design gives them. So the new VX, like our
popular EX models, has a strong and stable SMC hull – proven in the toughest conditions.

Very practical features
The clear, easy-read multi-function instruments are a joy to use and keep the rider informed of key
functions, as well as the status of the RiDE system. There’s plenty of practical watertight storage (even
twin cupholders) together with comfortable deck mats and a re-boarding step. For even more added
fun, a towhook comes as standard – and for safety, the large dual mirrors help the driver see what’s
happening behind.
